Call to Action: Rally Today Government Center 12:30 to Demand
Mike Freeman’s Office to Drop Charges and Release KB Brown Immediately
Where: Government Center Lobby
When: Friday, Feb. 24, 12:30 pm
The Minneapolis NAACP joins with the community to demand the immediate release of community pillar, KB Brown and that Mike Freeman drop all charges against him. KB Brown has been in custody for over two months on baseless charges, unable to assist in his own defense, have access to his family, or to have his health needs appropriately addressed.
On Dec. 12, 2016, KB was taken into custody after MPD entered his home on a no-knock warrant based solely on the untruthful word of a confidential informant and found his wife’s registered and licensed weapon which had never been fired. He was transferred to Lino Lakes on a baseless detention hold and remains there today. In the absence of any legitimate reason to hold Mr. Brown, the people are left to wonder what the true agenda is.
Mr. Brown is the owner of Wolfpack Promotionals, a printing business company based in North Minneapolis. He is a community leader and his detention is damaging the community, his business, his family, and his health. With over 30 character letters from a broad array of people in Minneapolis and across the metro area, it is clear that the community does not view Mr. Brown as a threat. The people demand his release.
Further, the people demand that Mike Freeman drop all charges immediately. There is no evidence to support any charge. Irreparable damage has already been done and continues each day Mr. Brown is held.
Come and make your voices heard!
