The MPS Board of Directors have admittedly made missteps in excluding the communities voice from their first Superintendent search.

Board members acknowledged missteps in their search for a new school superintendent at a meeting Tuesday night, and said they need to “regain the public’s trust.” - KARE 11

“I don’t think we’ve done a good job. We have to unite for the sake of the children, and we have to do a good job this time. And I want the community members to be part of this decision.” - Siad Ali, MPS School Board Director

To ensure that the Board of Directors and Minneapolis District of Education hears from the community, we will host a Town Hall meeting in North and South Minneapolis. Board of Education Directors and MPS staff members are invited to listen objectively to the concerns of community members, families, teachers, and to hear from students directly.
