MINNEAPOLIS POLICE MURDER JAMAR CLARK
Demanding Justice for Jamar Clark, after being shot in the head by Minneapolis police.
On November 15, 2015, Jamar Clark was murdered, execution style by the Minneapolis police department. After being called to the scene for a domestic dispute, officers arrived at the residential neighborhood of James and Plymouth Ave N. in Minneapolis.
According to numerous witness accounts, around 1:00 am at the intersection of James and Plymouth Ave N. Minneapolis, MN. Upon arriving at the scene, the police placed the victim in handcuffs and slammed him to the ground. “The young man was just laying there; he was not resisting arrest. Two officers were surrounding the victim on the ground, an officer maneuvered his body around to shield Jamar’s body, and I heard the shot go off.” -Teto Wilson, Northside Community Resident and Business Owner
“The Minneapolis NAACP stands in solidarity with North Side Community residents in demanding accountability for the egregious conduct of Minneapolis Police officers, when they shot and killed Jamar Clark, early this morning in North Minneapolis. Specifically we are demanding an independent investigation; that the officers in question be fired and prosecuted; that African American grief counselors for witnesses be supplied; and a public apology from city leaders for the police abuse that occurred and how residents were treated following the shooting.” -Nekima Levy-Pounds, Minneapolis NAACP President
The Northside Community, the Minneapolis NAACP, Black Lives Matter Minneapolis stand as one in demanding justice for the murder of Jamar Clark. We will not rest until his murderers are brought to justice. On November 15, 2015, at 3:00 pm we will meet at the corner of James and Plymouth Ave N. Minneapolis to hold a rally and march for justice for Jamar.
